About Our Eyelid Rejuvenation Procedures
Ageing around the eyes (periorbital ageing) is particularly noticeable, and those of Northern European extraction particularly experience this.Different approaches are used when treating the under-eye area compared with above the eyes, and, all too often, drooping or excess skin of the brow/ forehead is confused with excess skin of the upper-eyelid; the former requires a brow lift and the latter requires a blepharoplasty. The use of anti-wrinkle injections to create a so-called ‘chemical brow lift’, just doesn’t cut it (pun intended) in any meaningful way.
3 Things you must know about Eyelid Rejuvenation
Is Eyelid Rejuvenation surgery painful?
Pain is subjective, and may not be accurately predicted between patients.
The psychological state of a patient may affect the perception and tolerance of pain.
Different drugs may be taken to minimise the discomfort or pain, especially associated with major surgery.
How long is recovery for eyelid surgery?
Sometimes self-absorbing stitches are used that do not require removal. Most people return to normal activities after seven to 10 days following blepharoplasty. By two weeks after eyelid surgery, the majority of the bruising and swelling will resolve.
How long does an eyelid lift last?
Upper eyelid surgery can last at least five to seven years. Lower eyelid surgery rarely needs to be repeated. Of course, your eyes will still age after the procedure. If your lids sag again, a forehead lift rather than another eye lift may be the preferred procedure.
