What Is A Thread Lift?
Thread lifts at Ignite MediSpa are a minimally invasive alternative to surgical facelifts. Thread Lifts allow for natural-looking results, improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles through natural collagen stimulation.
Thread Lift vs Face Lift
One of the biggest advantages of a thread lift compared to a facelift is recovery time. When someone undergoes a surgical facelift, they are sedated with general anesthesia. It is an invasive procedure and requires several days of recovery. Moreover,a surgical facelift will also require more planning as you will most likely need to take some days off work for example.
A thread lift however is a significantly easier procedure. It is performed with local/topical anesthesia. Certain patients may have soreness, redness or swelling, but usually, patients can return to work immediately as this is a minimally invasive procedure.
Thread Lift Frequently Asked Questions
Who Is A Good Fit For A Thread Lift?
An ideal candidate for a thread lift is a patient in their late thirties and older (however people experiencing signs of ageing at a younger age are also great candidates). It is ideal for someone looking to restore shape and reduce fine lines caused by ageing.
The “fox eyes” for example is currently in vogue as young celebrities and models have been noticed with their transformed eye and brow shape into a more elongated, almond shape.
This puts this aesthetic trend in high demand and thread lifting procedures are the perfect option to help achieve this look.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
This will really depend on the specific area being target, the degree of the correction required and other individual characteristics. However, most of our clients at Ignite MediSpa see satisfactory results after a single thread lift treatment with a follow-up schedule 6-8 months after initial treatment.
Treatments typically last up to three years but can vary depending on the patient and lifestyle.
Our cosmetic doctors will be able to provide you with a more accurate appraisal during your first medical consultation.
How Long Does A Thread Lift Take?
Typically, a thread lift takes somewhere between 15 to 30 minutes. As the procedure is minimally invasive, patients are free to carry on with their day after the treatment is completed.
What To Expect During A Thread Lift?
Threads are inserted into the treatment area via blunt tip needles, called cannulas, or sharp-tipped needles depending on the specific thread lift treatment. Once inserted into the appropriate layer of skin, they act as anchors as the skin is lifted upwards. Then, the excess threads are cut off. Making for a very quick and efficient procedure.
