Renuvion (Plasma Radiofrequency) Skin Resurfacing
When used to resurface the skin, such energy ‘cooks’ the top layer without harming the deeper layers. In addition to stimulating the production of new collagen, this leaves younger skin exposed, and this skin is:
- Tighter with reduced pore size;
- More homogeneous (uniform) in terms of texture and colour, e.g. diminishes age spots and uneven colouring.
It is not uncommon to have two treatments to extend the results, noting that ageing is constantly occurring, and results would be expected to last around 5 years depending on expectations.
Dr. Niro Sivathasan, our medical director, undertook the first resurfacing procedure using Renuvion in Australia. In his experience, the post-treatment redness (inflammation) is less than with most traditional lasers, and changes are visible from about three weeks (but take three months for something very tangible).
In short, age spots/ sun spots, fine lines, and freckles are diminished, but we recommend the skin resurfacing in combination with Renuvion’s main application, i.e. retrodermal remodelling to improve the tightness of skin (stimulate skin-contraction) and for improved/ sculpted definition.
